Why did my husband cheat on me.

September 1975, we were living in Preston at the time and had only been married for 6 months. He was getting friendly with the baby sitter across the road, and although I was getting suspicious , I didn't worry because, as I said we had only been married 6 months, and as I thought, we were very much in love.

One day on a whim, I came home from work one lunch time, (I only work round the corner), and as I walked in the door I found him in the kitchen, when he should have been at work. Me being me thought, he's up to something, so I shot upstairs, and sure enough guess who I found. Yes your right, the baby sitter, and used condom on the floor, her face turned to ashed grey as I looked at her. After telling her she was a slut and all the other names under the sun, I turned on my heels, shot down the stairs, and told him to get out. I went back to work.

All afternoon I was stewing over what I had seen and why had he done this to me. I didnt reach a conclusion. 5pm came around and I walked home, hoping he had packed his bags and gone. I unlocked the front door, only to find a note on the living room table saying, "I'm sorry If you want me back meet me in the park", cliche I know, but he is a man, and has no imagination. I was just about to walk up to the park when guess who was walking down the road. Because I hadn't met him, he thought I didn't want him back. I explained that I had gone back to work and had only just got in.

We spent the evening talking, shouting, crying and hugging, but eventually we come to an agreement that IF I gave him one more chance he would be a model husband, This was to haunt me later on in our marriage. So there you have it the FIRST time he cheated, I never found out why, and still to this day I don't know why.
